  1. Tell her that if she can stay quiet for a day, you'll give her some candy. Praise her when she stays quiet. Or just tell her to stop in a polite, calm voice "Sweetie, can you please stay quiet for a moment?"

  2. Your five year old is a typical five year old. Encourage her to talk, as much as you don't want to listen to the constant babbling - children develop better when they know they have an audience. If she wants to talk about her shoelaces, let her do it. Give her some input every now and then, because what she really wants is attention and interaction, and you should be encouraging her interactive behavior.

  3. nope nothing you can do. Its in the genes, and can't be helped. My mother told me that when I was a child I could talk a glass eye to sleep and that I just would never shut up. As an adult I LOVE to talk with people !

My son was born and was grunting when they put him in my arms. He is know 3 and could talk a glass eye to sleep !

    See the mother curse works!

  4. hmmm

lol well.. maybe you could try putting her in a sport she enjoys

she will be talking to friends and when she gets home she'll be to tired to talk lol

  5. The only thing to do id nurture her curiosity. It is a phase, she is curious, and she is learning so much. It's the perfect time to introduce books & letters and sounds to her as well as basic math. It may be a little aggervating, but she will grow out of it.

  6. turn it in to a game called the quiet game who ever can be quiet the longest gets a prize like a piece of candy, or just tell her the truth that she is talking way too much and although you love to listen to what she is saying you have other things on your mind and need a minute or two of silence to sort things out.

  7. Give her some books to read, or friends to play with.  Kids at this age NEED to use their imagination and with that comes using their mouths!!!  Get her interested in something else.  Put her in a play group, or some sort of lessons to keep her busy and give you a break!
