Fix Shoaib Malik’s batting order and role in the team, urges Aamer http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sohail-c90628 – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shoaib-Malik-c90088, properly and wants them to give a permanent number to the right-hander in the batting order.
Malik, 30, who remained out of international cricket for more than a year during 2010 and 2011, has been miserably out of form since his return to the fold against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045 last year.
Notably, the former Test captain has not been given a permanent number in the batting order, which has led to deterioration in his confidence level.
Having been dropped from the 50-over format after the series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 earlier this year, Malik made a comeback in the squad for the recently concluded battle against Australia; however, he failed to break into the playing XI.
The cricketer from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 next week.
While speaking to Pakpassion, Sohail expressed that Malik should have been given an opportunity to regain his confidence because of the all-important event coming up.
"If I was the captain or coach and I wanted Malik to be an integral part of my world T20 line up then I would have given Malik a thorough chance to find his form and confidence and to start performing and then have exposed him to the three T20Is in UAE against
Australia," feels the former captain.
In the 32 Tests, 203 ODIs and 44 T20Is he has played for Pakistan, the Sialkot Stallions’ skipper has scored more than seven thousand runs, to go with 176 wickets at the game’s ultimate stage.
Aamer feels that the management is not looking at the team’s long-term benefit and wants Malik to be given a fix number in the middle-order.
He mentioned, "They never gave him a “number”, he batted in UAE against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 without a role or batting position, which can be disturbing for a batsman. I feel that the bigger picture has been ignored here."
