Question:

Fix Trim with Colored Pencil? (pics)?

Do you think colored pencil would help hide how messed up the trim is. This is a old trailer, and when we painted...the tape ripped most the trim right off. (we used the "special" painters tape too.. :( It didn't help )

I really don't have the time to paint over it, but a friend suggested using colored pencil over the bad areas, and color it to match the rest.

Do you think that's the best route to go?

  1.   I would try and stain it 1 st  and see how that looks and then try a arizon suggested and use the wood grain paper.. Looks like a natural stain color  from your picture  GL

  2. Look for light wood grain Contact paper.  I've seen it in the color of your door. Cut the piece bigger than you need and put it on then trim it with a sharp utility knife.

  3. ummm...no! that is a lot you'd have to color, so it would look horrible if you tried. i know you may not have time...but you really should just get a new trim or paint it.

  4. Colored pencils will never cover that up.. it will look really crappy.. the best thing to do is get the right type of paint and paint the door over... The same thing happened to my closet door and i tried everything but it only got better after i painted the whole door and the other wood areas over..
