Fix it ticket?

I got a fix it ticket for expired registration.. I have to pass smog. So so far what Im doing is working on getting the car to pass the smog, and then paying my CA registration online. So thats done that way.

But the fix it ticket, I have to show the registration was done. The cop said go to court show it was fixed and pay $10 and thats it.

My question is... do I have to go to court itself? Because on the lacourt website it says you can mail it in. But if I mail proof in then what about the $10? Im confused on this? Cause Im also reading peeps saying that when you prove to the court they waive fees? So it seems the cop and the court contradict each other... ?

The problem with our courthouse is they dont let you sit in line, and it takes over an hour standing with no seats to get through. The problem with that is I have a bad feet problems that I cant stand for that long of a time, so if I can just mail it in..

  1. you fix it pay the 10 dollars and have a police officer of the county sign it or a judge of the county.

  2. Typically, you would mail the $10 in with the proof of correction - that's acceptable.
