Fixed penalty notice only recieved today?

i have just recieved a fixed penalty noices for a paking offence from 18/07/08 in Nottingham (not sure if this matters).

is it true you only have to pay if issuesd with 21 days?

  1. 28 days rings a bell.  You may have only received it today but if you check the date it was issued was definitely within 28 days so you have no comeback.

    The council cannot be blamed for the time the post takes to get to you and I very much doubt they will accept this as a reason for you not to pay.  If I was you, I would pay up or they will double the fine!


  2. I would do exactly as the penalty notice demands.  If unclear I would call the number listed.  It does no good to fight city hall!  I would pay as they suggest (demand) and be on my way.
