Fixing a chipped tooth ?

my tooth is chipped and i have very white teeth except for a few small brown spots, i heard the dentists will polish your teeth to make it match the chipped patch, will they make all of my teeth white or no?

and should i get veneers? whats your advice?

  1. depends on where it has got # (fractured). If its a small one, a composit filling can be done. It its involving the pulp, you need a root canal & a crown.


  2. Veneers aren't permanent. They have to be replaced every 10-15 years and they are expensive. Depending on the severity of the chip in your tooth, it might be better to have it crowned. A dentist will be able to determine which one is better for you.

  3. i have a friend that had chipped her two front teeth when she was in 4th grade and did the veneers. what they did for her is you can either whiten them and then they will cut the tooth to a point and place the veneer over it or you can stick to the color now and then they will cut/sand it to a point and place the veneer on. The thing with whitening (and this is why she opted not to do whitening) is because like every 6 months for the rest of your life they have to be re-whitened. She was thinking of cost (yeah, she was smart like that for a 4th grader). Her veneers look great, couldn't even tell she had them until she told me the story
