i have a chevy blazer 1986 s-10 with a 2.6L motor with a automatic tranny, i had some work done where the mechanic had to patch a couple spots on the tranny to fix a couple leaks, today my tranny was leaking coolent from a hole that looked like someone drilled it...when someone patches a hole in a tranny, do they drill out the crack and patch it over that so the crack will not continue to get bigger and it would give the patch a stronger grip, so what i think is the patch just came off, is this something i should try to get done again at no cost cause they did the work like 2 weeks ago? also i got kinda ahead of myself, does a mechanic drill out the crack? thanks for the info, also if they dont do it again for free, what should i use to do it myself?

  1. just drill a hole at the top of the crack and it wont crack no more!

  2. The hole is to stop the cack from extending but they should have drilled at the start of the crack also.If they dont fix it you can use 1 of 2-part epoxies available at auto part stores, Raise on jackstands drilled side up. You might try a Q-tip with alcohol to clean the inside and wipe the outside apply epoxy and let dry.
