Question:

Fixing a punch bag in the garden?

My son has a large (48" high, 30" diameter) very heavy punch bag. As we live in a terraced house I have decided to hang it in the garden to minimise noise and maximise sanity!

Any tips for fixing a bracket to a brick wall? The bracket came (secondhand) with bolthead screws. Also ideas for keeping the rain out. I looked at dry bags for watersports but they are all too small. The punch bag is too heavy for me too lift it, so it will inevitably be left out sometimes.

  1. if the bag is as heavy as u claim,,,do not fix to a brickwall only without any additional supports,,,,,the bricks will not hold for long due to the constant movement and force placed onto the supporting brkt...i would consider using an "A" type frame or simular...it can also be covered with a tarp when not in use...good luck
