Question:

Fixing degraded plastic - accidently spilt acetate on it?

I was recently cleaning up an old glue residue on one of my beloved classic cameras when I got some on the plastic screen of the light metre. It's only at the side, but it has degraded slightly and become slightly lighter and rougher than the rest. Much less clear and shiny. It slightly ruins the look of the camera and I'm worried it'll affect the amount of light going in. Does anyone know how I could restore the plastic?

  1. Acetate, or acetone? Anyway, 'bout all's you can do is replace it, cause no amount of polishing will restore it completely.
