Question:

Fixing my Xbox 360...?

I got the Red Ring of Death yesterday :-( sigh very sad.

I'm contemplating sending it to Microsoft, but I'm pretty sure I'm out of warranty (I'm second owner of the Xbox), and I live overseas even though I'm American so it'd take FOREVER.

I'm seriously considering fixing it myself- my dad used to be an electrician, and is now a pilot/mechanic, so I have a hunch we'd be able to fix it.

Does anyone have any tips? And are there any free online guides?

Thanks.

(Preferably answers would be given by people that have done it personally themselves).

  1. yes you are right. As a second hand owner u need to pay for the repair but look to the bright side of it that that u'll get a one year warranty on the console when it comes back from the repair centre

and if it happened and you fixed it out side the official repair centre , if something happened with your console and this time u need to send to the Repaie centre , it wont be fixed as it will be considered a tampered console (violation of terms of use) and it will never be fixed again

    Think about it

p.s  check the colour on the power supply (the grey box) while ur console is on and giving you three red lights . if it is green thats means ur console is faulty but if it is amber or red thats mean the power supply is the faulty one here, then u just need to have another powersupply and then u need to call the customer support to send you a new one
