I have to fix my tooth. The dentist said that it needs to be implanted and it will cost me $1700 after the insurance covers the other part. So I have to pay $1700 to do so. Is there away to do it for cheaper price because I do not have money. Please help

  1. You could get on a localdentist4less membership as an addition to your ins.

  2. Do you mean he recommended an implant?  An implant requires the extraction of your exsisting tooth, and replacing it with a implant that is secured into your jaw.

If he recommended this, it's likely that this particular tooth is hopeless(too decayed to restore or crown).  The only other possible option is to get a bridge, but depending on where this tooth is located, it may be difficult or impossible.

Getting a bridge is not a cheaper option, possibly being only slightly less than the cost of an implant.

And as far as insurance goes, most traditional insurance companies cover these procedures only at 50% and pay out a yearly max on average of $1000.  (Dental insurance is a rip off)

  3. i needed a bunch of dental work also, ($3K)

i went through capital one.  they have a dental plan.  basically was a loan.  the interest depends on your credit score - it can range from 5% to 20%.  i pay them back at $75/mo.

it was the last alternative to not having the money for work i deperately needed.

you can apply on line and usually find out right away.

[they send the money right to your dentist and they draw from it as you get the work done]

... implants are really expensive and you probably won't find anyone to do it a whole lot cheaper.

you could try the closest dental school.  but if you go that route, your letting students do the work on you.

also, see if you can find a dentist that gives discounts based on your insurance.

for example.  i drive an hour to the dentist because they either take what the insurance will pay or if they don't they give me a really discounted rate because of the type of insurance i have.  they also give a discounted rate to people who have certain types of major medical insurance, even though that insurance is not covering the work because they have some kind of contract with the big insurance companies.

  4. wow. before implants there are other ways to restore a tooth. ultimately it is the best way but its a luxury, see if there are other options to restore that area that you can afford. or payment plan?

  5. there are definatly cheaper places than that.i don't know where you are located but i am in the US.i suggest calling other dentist and asking their price.also, there are many universities(even some county colleges) that charge cheap as the you would be treated by a student being overseen by a dentist.that is the best way to go because they are usually cheaper even if you don't have insurance.
