  1. Are you sure you want to try to tackle this?

You could buy a brand new F150 for less than the material will cost you to do this job, even if labor is free.

If you still want to proceed, get some books on body work.  That will give you a start.  You will need to cut out the rusted areas, and weld in replacement metal.  For the dents, a stud welder can be used to weld on studs to pull the dent out, then you grind the studs off.  There are other methods too, some of which may be better for your particular situation, that is why you need the books.

After the book learning, you may want to enroll you and your dad in a local votech auto body project class, using the truck as your project.

  2. I had the same year Ford. You should wield new metal floor boards in, but be careful as the gasoline tank is located behind the seat inf the cab.

As for the bed of the truck, I have seem new metal or wood put in. If you are a decent carpenter you can use some hard wood planking (oak) and build a new bed with metal supports using marine varnish to seal it.

The dent I would have to look at, you could try to find a truck bed in a salvage yard that would fit and just replace the whole thing or try to pull and fill the dent. If you locate a new bed than you wouldn't have to replace the bottom of it as well.

    Good luck.

  3. see if you can take a rubber mallet and knock the dent out, if you can get the most of it out, then you can fill the rest with bondo. as for the floorboard, if theres no holes, clean it out real good and take some brush paint, either rust-olem or red devil are both good paints, brush it on heavy and let it dry good before you install the carpet.
