Question:

Fixing up concrete floor. ?

So I recently moved into a new room and ripped out the carpet(it was disgusting!). I've painted, fixed up my room, etc. except for the flooring! I'm on a moderately tight budget, so I want to make due with what I have and decorate my concrete so my room can finally look 100% done! The problem is, I have no idea ow to do it! What I want is this:

white paint on it(is there a special paint I should use?)

and I do not know if you've seen the store Forever 21's flooring( http://www.flickr.com/photos/dbur4900/2448473415/), but I want my floor to sparkle like their's does. I found some very thin, sparkly "diamond dust", I believe it's called. Can I somehow sprinkle this on after I've painted then apply a glossy sealer to the top?

I have never worked with a concrete floor before. I do not know how to sanitize it, prepare it, or paint it. My floor has a few hairline cracks and some small chunks missing(where I pulled out carpet nails). Can someone give me a complete guide of how to not only fix my floor, but paint it like I want it as well? Sorry if my question is confusing, but thanks for the help!

  1. i think even home depot has "garage floor paint". and yes you can sprinkle diamond dust in it or speckels... :-)

  2. While your at home depot get a tub of concrete repair that is self-leveling.(I used it in basement) letiit set then folow through with garage floor paint. it can also be tinted to some degree, seal in your diamond dust.
