I was told by my two friends who both own flag companies (Bernco in Dickson City, PA and Jim's Flags and Banners in Wilkes Barre PA) that there are no taxes on US, Historical, International, State, Territorial, Religious, or stick flags of the above. I visited Dollar Surplus (the owners are Korean or Something) and bought 3 U.S. stick flags coming to $3.24. I asked her if there was tax and she said yes. I cant understand why?

  1. Sounds like an urban legend.

  2. sales tax vary bi state, sitee, kountee.

As far as me no, all tax flags (sept states without sales tax).

  3. Sales tax laws vary from state to state.  It's true that some states do not charge sales tax on the sales of flags.

You will need to do research of your state's sales tax law.

If you really want the sales tax for the flags refunded, there should be a form that you can file with the state.  Send in the completed refund claim form and a copy of the receipt.  Your claim will be reviewed and the state will decide if you should be granted a refund or not.
