Flash 8 Text help! Not showing?

Question

Best way to explaine my prob, i followed this video exactly..

My backround is black, when playing it its fine, but when i test the movie it only shows the first line of text and the rest is blanked out and it dose not fade in and out (Text is white)

Any ideas?

First of all make sure your text filed is static and not dynamic (first option on the left of the properties area).

Secondly I suggest you add the tweening before adding the 2nd and 3rd keyframes. This guarantees a correct linking.

ei:

1 - add your text on keyframe 1

2 - right click keyframe 1 and choose 'Create motion tween'

3 - add keyframes at 50 and 100 (or wherever)

4 - go back to second keyframe and adjust alpha values

5 - test your movie and you should get what you're expecting.
