Question:

Flash Player. Installed or not Installed???!!!?

I am pulling my hair out.

I can't figure out what's going on with Flash.

1. What's confusing me is flash works in my web browser Safari. (I have a site that uses Flash to display crosswords).

2. Adobe tells me I have the latest version of Flash.

3. When I'm in Adobe Dreamweaver and want to edit a flash object I'm supposed to be able to choose "edit with Flash." Dreamweaver help says that if this button is disabled (which it is) you don't have Flash installed.

4.I have tried uninstalling (which just crashes w/o doing anything), reinstalling (which just creates even more folders on my computer titled Flash etc.) and I've tried repairing disk utilities.

If anyone can help I would really appreciate it.

BTW: I am using a Mac. Everything is up-to-date. If you need more details let me know.

Thanks

  1. Flash is a program AND a plug-in. It seems you just have the Flash Player installed (free). Flash the program (to edit flash files) is $700. It's kinda like Acrobat Reader and Acrobat. Acrobat Reader lets you view PDF files and is free. Acrobat by itself is not free and lets you edit and make PDF files.

Before you can install it, you need uninstall previous one, That is the problem and you might need these 2 troubleshooting sites to do so
