Flash drive problem. I have a new HP vista computer and I bought a new 2gb innovera flash drive

I have a new HP vista computer and I bought a new 2gb innovera flash drive and my computer is asking for software to recognize it and when I click on search and download info comes back stating "nothing found" which means all the files I put on this new flashdrive Friday at work, can't be read from my new Vista system for home office on Monday. HELP!!!!My cell number is 443.370.8556I'm a user, not a techie so someone will need to talk me through what to do as my at work tech people didn't know why it wouldn't work. Cheri
