Flash not working on olympus x-785 camera

Question

I got an olympus X-785 for christmas and it was working fine for a month or two, but recently the flash has not been going off. The red marker is blinking to indicate the flash is charging but it never stops blinking so the flash is never ready to go off. A picture can be taken when no flash mode is chosen. Could you please help me as the camera is pretty much pointless without the flash.
