  4. This is often found in industry and is a potentially very dangerous situation. It occurs when you have water and steam under high pressure sealed in a container. The high pressure of the steam prevents the water from boiling, and the temperature of the steam/water mixture  will be well above 100°C. If this container is suddenly opened, the superheated water rushes out under the pressure of the steam, and because it is well above the boiling point of water under atmospheric pressure, it immediately flashes into steam.
