Flashback: Casey Stoner moves to Repsol Honda – MotoGP Special
Casey Stoner of Ducati has decided to move to Repsol Honda for the next 2011 season. It was no wonder because of his performance over the 2010 season with Ducati team. He had the abilities to make it to the championship title and he could only win 3 races
over the season among the 9 podiums he attained, with the Italian team.
He was unable to finish 5 races in the season and it was obvious that he was unable to get most out of his Ducati. We anticipate that his move of joining Repsol Honda for the 2011 season was great because Ducati at that time was not the same as it was in
2007 when Stoner won championship riding it.
In Repsol Honda he had to team with Dani Pedrosa and he proved his talent by edging his teammate in the very first year of his agreement.  He proved that he is the best with Honda and there is no one who could have beaten him when he was riding his machine.
He won the championship in the very first year of his agreement by winning 10 out of the 17 races he started. He managed to finish every race at the podium during his first season with Honda.
He convincingly won the very first Grand Prix of the season however he was unable to finish the second grand prix of the season. He attained pole position at the Spanish Grand Prix but was unable to finish the race.
We believe that it was the one of the best decisions by the Australian rider to leave Ducati considering the problems faced by the Italian rider Valentino Rossi who replaced him in the team. With his new Honda machine he was able to attain his second championship
whereas Rossi dropped to the fight for top 10th position and complaining about the Ducati machine.
Stoner holds an important position in the championship as he is among the worthy riders who could have the championship. In the current season he was the third contender in the championship however he crashed which dropped him from the title contention.
He has announced his retirement from the sport and the current 2012 season is his last season with the sport. He believes that he should not continue with the sport as his interest is lacking and he wants to leave before he gets frustrated.
We anticipate that Ducati will become competitive soon as it will add to the interest of the sport.
