Flashing warning light comes on after about...

Question

The coffee machine is four years old and has never being used.
The first time it was swiched on the warning light comes on after 30 seconds.
Everything is fitted correctly and the door is shut.
The steam is released into a cup but the temperature light never comes on only the warning light comes back on after about 60 seconds.
Could you please help
