Flat Earth Society?

I just wanted to know if any of you believe the earth is flat and why.

I mean seriously, astronauts have gone into space and seen the earth: it's round!

BTW, I looked at websites and they are ridiculous, so don't give me any links. At one of the websites, in order to join, you had to give your favorite historical leader: Napoleon Bonaparte of Atilla the Hun. Freaky.

But, if any of you are part of this society, I would like to know your reasons.

I've read about the Flat Earth Society. They claim that at the polar ice caps, instead of being the top of the globe, that there's a massive wall of ice that goes so high no one can ever reach the top. Wtf? Forget about astronauts, Magellan proved the earth was round when he SAILED AROUND IT!

The thing with conspiracy theorists is that they believe in conspiracies.

It doesn't matter what you say, what prove you have, or who went into space - they can deflect it with a simple argument.

"It's a lie". The government is lying, those astronauts are lying (or they never left in the first place), and YOU are lying!

They are probably also somewhat paranoid, which makes a nice recipe for irrationality.

It is a funny idea, isn't it?

Willful ignorance and the denial of reality will make you believe all sorts of things.  Just look around in this section and you'll find some stuff that is every bit as silly as the Flat Earth Society.

Some people (read idiots) think the earth is flat because in the bible Satan takes Christ up to a high place and can see the entire earth, which could only happen if the earth was flat.  These are the same kind of people who thought dinosaur fossils were funny shaped rocks put there by the devil to confuse people.
