I am looking at 32 inch flat panels and fell in love with a Vizio 32in. plasma, the picture looked nicer even than the sony and phillips tv's, nice and bright, the remote looks real cool and the tv has a nice glossy black finish, 3 traits the other sets lack. Are Vizios any good? Anyone out there know?

  1. Vizio is a third tier, disposable, "junk" TV. I know this isn't what you WANT to hear, but it's cheap for a reason. Buy at your peril! See, http://www.hdgurur.com/your-new-disposab... Unfortunately, there are too many here that know little or nothing about modern TV technology that trumpet the benefits of buying cheap c**p, like Vizio and Westinghouse.

If you really want a 32" screen, the best buy, for performance and reliability, is a tie between the Panasonic and Sony LCD, followed by a slightly less expensive Toshiba. Buy cheap, buy twice.

  2. One important factor in choosing flat panel TVs is the resolution.  The top-end TVs these days support resolutions of 1920x1080 pixels.  You will need this resolution to display "native" Full HD (FHD) contents.  Older panels (or cheaper ones) support up to 1366x768 pixels.  The images may look ok but for FHD contents, they are shrunk before getting displayed on the 1366x768 panels; hence you may see some image artifacts.  For a 32" plasma, I am guessing the resolution is even lower (hence cheaper).  You should check.  Also, Vizio uses a cheap video IC chip set.  Heard that many have regretted buying a Vizio after lugging it home and watched it for a few days.

  3. Vizio is a low-cost LCD/flat panel maker, its also becoming a more popular brand within the US market.  Comparably, they are as good, sometimes even better than the huge names like Sony and Phillips.  They have an excellent price point and because of that the price of the flat panel tv is on a steady decrease.

Read the link below, it will offer you some insight on the best set for you.

  4. I've heard good and bad.  Many say it's the best flat panel for your money, in the inexpensive market.  They certainly look pretty good.

Other people have said they don't tend to last super long.

This is all hear-say, I don't own one, myself.

  5. Yeh ! Its good, go for it. Its nice.

  6. i am not very familiar with the Vizio rang,I would rather go for a more well known brand for a little more cash like a Samsung or a Sony.

I say this because you know that if some thing breaks or if you need to talk to customer services you know that there will be qualified people that can help you with your questions and that you will be able to get the TV fixed by professionals who know what they are doing.

  7. The real question here should be LCD or Plasma?
