Question:

Flat tire....stranded?

Hey guys heres my situation...

I have a Infiniti QX4 with aftermarket 22s with low pro 35 series tires.

My friends and I were driving around last night and on our way back to my bud's house we noticed that one of the tires were verrrrry low. (almost to the rim)

What should I do? The next gas station is about a mile away... and the spare tire isnt an option because the car would sit so akwardly with the other 22s.

Suggestions?

  1. I agree with the mechanic, do not use fix a flat. This c**p should be taken off the market, I have seen countless people get screwed over by fix a flat.

  2. take it off and catch a ride with ur neighbor

  3. Get a new spare, maybe an aftermarket 22 with a low pro 35 series tire.

You obviously have quite a bit of money so I don't see why you wouldn't

  4. The only thing you can do is call a tow truck to get it to a bell tire or firestone. But dont do what that one lady said. Fix a Flat is usless and any tireshop will not fix the tire if you use it so you will end up buying a new $350 22" tire cause a patch plug wont stick to it plus some other legal stuff. Its also useless because its so low in the first place you dont want to drive on it. But dont drive on a flat cause you will damage the sidewall or even cut it and you will have to buy a new tire then too. A tow truck will be much cheaper some insurance company's even pay for the tow.

  5. well dude it sounds like you have gotten yourself into a pickle.Well since you did not think about having yourself a flat before hand,You do have a few options but i suggest you get a proper spare for future issues such as this. Now to get you out of this pickle. Here are your options and about all you can do in this situation.

Option#1---You can drive it to a service station and add some air to

that tire until you can get it to a tire shop.

Option#2---You can jack up the vehicle and remove the tire and

call a friend to come get you and the tire and take

                     it and have it repaired.

Option#3---You can put on the spare that you have and not worry

about it being odd.Just take it easy and straight to

                     the tire shop.

Option#4---You can call a wrecker service to either tow it to a

tire shop or else have him to pull the tire off and

try to fix it or take it and get it repaired for you.

Option#5---Call a friend and have them pick up a can of fix a flat

and bring it to you to try to fix the tire.

Option#6---Drive it with a flat tire and ruin the rim

Option#7---There are no more options but I do suggest that when

you pick one of the above options. While you are having

the tire repaired, check into a proper size spare so that

you do not have to rely on one of these options again.

good luck and i hope this helps you out

  6. Here's a thought: carry a spare that fits your car more appropriately.  Or better yet carry an air pump in your truck that plugs into your cig lighter.  If your going to drive around in something ridiculous you need be more prepared.  You can afford to drive such a gas hog you should be able to afford an appropriately sized spare tire.

  7. Use Fix-a-flat till you can get to a service station.  I always carry a can with me, just in case.

Fix-a flat has worked for me many times.  Also, as long as you tell the repair shop that you used it, they will take care of it.
