Flatland BMX: If you put skateboard griptape on smooth grind pegs, can you make Flatland Pegs?

Does this work on metal pegs, or plastic ones (plegs)? Will it just slip off?

Is this a good cheaper alternative to expensive flatland pegs?

it would work and you would have good grip....but flatland pegs are ussually shorter so you have more clearance...and you can really mess up your shins on the grip tape if you miss the peg or sumthing
