  1. sometimes if you get sport bandaids.. the kind that stick really well and put them where you know you've gotten a blister in the past with the pair of shoes you want to wear.. it will prevent the rubbing and prevent the blister. if youre having problems with aching arches - i do not recommend wearing the flats everyday. i have high arches so they hurt if i wear the same pair of flats too many days in a row. alternate with sneakers or a comfier pair of shoes.

  2. try keen brand shoes

  3. You've already gotten some good answers.

Go to a good shoe store and have them measure your feet and try on flats to see how they are supposed to feel.  You may be getting flats that are too wide or too long or both.  Then, you will be able to choose better in the stores where you shop.  If you are going to these better stores, tell the salesperson what your problem is.

You can buy inserts to raise your foot a bit if you are getting a blister just above your heel or put one of those pads in the back of the shoe.  However, they eventually roll up for me.  I have a very narrow, long foot, so have personal experience with your problem.

If you are not wearing hose, that may be part of your problem.

I've used the band aid idea myself and it really helps.  Sometimes all you need to do is to tape until you break in the shoes.

If your feet hurt, you may need a cushier flat with better padding on the bottom.  I just bought some boots which felt like the ball of my foot was on concrete.  I put in some good shoe liners which gave excellent padding, so now I have a boot I like and can wear.

  4. Not trying to be smart here, just stating a fact. Look at the "flats". They're flat. No foot support at all. Look at the bottom of your foot. It's not flat. Needs proper support or you'll have aching feet forever. Blisters are caused by friction which means the flats are loose and sliding around on your foot and with every step your foot is then sliding around on the flat.
