Flavia Pennetta undoes Daniela Hantuchova in 2nd round – China Open 2011
Italian Flavia Pennetta screwed Slovakian Daniela Hantuchova in the second round of the China Open 2011. On Tuesday the 4th of October, the players battled it out on outdoor hard courts of the National Tennis Center
in Beijing, China. It took Italian Pennetta just sixty five minutes to unearth the Slovakian Hantuchova in straight sets of 6-2, 6-1.
Hantuchova won the service toss and decided to open the initial round of the match. However, she got off to an awful start as she was unable to hold her first service game. On the contrary, Pennetta had capitalized on an early
break and then in the second game, she held her serve and in doing so, she was successfully placed on the scoreboard with a mini lead of 2-0.
In the following four games, both the players had successfully won on alternate service games and rolled the scoreboard to 4-2. Although, Hantuchova had tried to reduce the deficit, she unable to do so and by the end of the first
six games, Hantuchova was a break and game down. In the last two games, Pennetta broke Hantuchova for the last time and with a 5-2 lead, she was now serving for the set point. As the Italian women smashed three successive aces in the eighth game, she bagged
the opening set with a 6-2 victory.
The second set was opened by Hantuchova again and this time she clogged a game on her serve. Trailing right behind her was Pennetta and as both held their serves, they placed themselves on the scoreboard at 1-1. Hantuchova double
faulted on her second serve during the third game and in doing so, she endorsed a game to Pennetta. Capitalizing on the first break was Pennetta and as she held serve in the following game, she took a mini lead of   3-1.
Pennetta again benefited from a break point and then again held her serve to further increased the lead to 5-1. She now only a match point away and as she capitalized on her third break point, she clogged the set and the match
with a breadstick victory. Hantuchova was unable to break her opponent even once during the entire set, and she had committed two double faults which cost her the match.
The world number 26 Italian, Pennetta got the better of Slovak world number 25 Hantuchova. Next up for the Italian is another Slovak Dominika Cibulkova, who ousted the seventh seeded Francesca Schiavone in straight sets.
