Ok we live in a 2 story house with a basement. We noticed that our cats had fleas so we treated them and they are flea free as well is our main floor and our 2nd story however our basement is infested with them we have used the bug foggers 3 times and used 3 at a time in our basement to try and get rid of them no luck, we have spread 2 other kinds of bug spray down there as well and of course we still have them. We only have our washer and dryer down there which is where we see most of the fleas is by them, we don't have any carpet or anything just storage totes and some tables. Any ideas on how we can get rid of them??? Thanks

  1. I have found in the past that all you need is table salt to kill fleas. Just sprinkle it around the room infected and leave it for a couple of days. Vacuum floor, Then more salt.  Put down quiet a lot of it to do the trick. The fleas eat it and dry up from the salt.  You have to do it a few times because of the eggs hatching. Hope this works for you...also I just read the other day to rid fleas on dogs to bath them in dawn dish soap. Rinse real well so you don't cause skin dryness from the soap.  I don't know if it works..haven't tryed it myself, but I Do know that the salt works. I had a lab that would lay at night by my bed and in the morning I would put my feet down and they would be all over my legs and I tryed the salt and it worked.

  2. I have problems w/the little bloodsuckers alot.  The last time I took some advice on line, 1st-spray everything with flea rid (it comes in a gallon jug & it's white w/red lettering)  This will kill anything alive and will keep them from reproducing.  The eggs are the tricky part, nothing kills them.  Every time  they hatch you spray again.  Dawn and pine-sol mixed together is what I sprayed the furniture with.  This process takes about a week & a half to 2 wks.  Whatever you do, don't take any back upstairs with you.  Off on the legs helps this.

  3. Regular table salt will get rid of them.

  4. Get the good stuff.  You can buy professional products online.  You will probably need to do at least two treatments since you will need to kill the fleas that hatch from eggs later.  No product on the market will kill the eggs.

Forget Raid and other Foggers.  I have never had any luck with those.  Precor works well.
