Flea emergency. HELP?

we have five cats that we took in. four were kittens that a stray we know had. they've had fleas for a while and we tried to keep them away. there were only a few for a while, but now it's gotten much worse. to the point where they're in the house and we're getting bit which I know is a health hazard. we've tried the name brand stuff on their necks, we've tried flea collars (which I'm now hearing aren't so good for them =S =( ), we keep the house clean, we sprayed the house recently...which seemed to cut them back for a couple of weeks, but they're coming back now. the spray is supposed to last for seven months. please has anyone experienced this and finally found something that WORKED? I hate seeing the cats suffer and I hate being bitten myself.

also, how big are flea larvae? because I think we're starting to see those around now too. ugh =/.

  1. How I got rid of fleas and bugs from my home

You will need to purchase a simple bug/fly zapper; the type you use on a patio to kill flying insects.  You can buy a small one that will cover a large area of your house at most home improvement stores for as little as 15.00-20.00 dollars.  For faster results you can use one bug zapper for each room.  However the fleas do gravitate to the bug zapper’s light once night sets in and all the lights in your house are out. So one should work for a small home, just make sure to place it in the room where the most fleas are seen or felt.   Place the zapper on the floor in a corner behind a piece of furniture so kids and pets won’t play with or bother it. Set it on a plate or pie tin for easy cleaning up of the zapped bugs, you will be killing all bugs in your home as well, and then plug it in.  Remember, it is a piece of electrical equipment.  You have to use caution in where you put it. At night the fleas automatically want to go to a light, when they hop in to the bug zapper light they get fried! You can actually hear little, zits, zits when the fleas are getting zapped! All GONE! Keep the carpet vacuumed daily until your flea problem is under control, this will help tremendously in getting the fleas eggs out of your home and carpet faster!!  I am not responsible for misuse of the above item.  Use full caution in placing your bug zapper to the safest place.  It will work for months, even years; it will continue to kill bugs in your home as long as the light is on.  The bulb can be replaced once it burns out.  The light bulb can be purchased at most home improvement stores.

  2. Well first you need to bring them to the vet to get their shots and deworm them and while theyre there have them give them a medicated bath. Then you must use Frontline once a month. That is the best things for flea prevention. Then i would suggest get your house flea bombed. I had to do that once. Its easy to do, u buy it in the pet shop and do it yourself. If there are alot of fleas u might have to do it twice.

    USE FRONTLINE!

  3. Bring your cats to the veternarian and have them profesionally washed with flea medicine and keep them there while you have your house extirminated. im pretty sure thats the only way.

  4. idk about the vet thing, but you can get them washed at like petsmart or something and while they are out...bomb your house with flea killer for a couple hours.  what has seemed to work for me is the revolution flea drops for the neck.

when i first got my cat, he had fleas all the time && we freaked and it took them away really fast. and we havent seen them since.

    :]
