Ok. Both our cats have fleas. Really bad. They aren't outdoor cats, I've tried with a pet store drops that hasn't work, I'm trying with a flea spray and that seems to help a little bit but the fleas move to another spot on his body. We cant give our one cat a "flea bath" as he scratches like a tiger. Our oldest one is losing fur. I know about the vet drops but we don't have the money. Help asap.

  1. You can buy Capstar and Frontline Plus at drsfostersmith.com . The Capstar will kill all the fleas on your cat almost instantly and the frontline will prevent re-infestation. Use the Capstar right away. It will kill all fleas on your cat with in an hour. It is imperative that you do not skip this. Frontline (or advantage, revolution, promeris, etc.) is only effective if the flea bites the cat. Fleas have a 3 week lifespan and only feed for a few days of those three weeks, so you must use Capstar to kill all live fleas on your cat. After you Capstar add on the Frontline Plus and it will keep fleas off your cat for 30 days. Any eggs that hatch will be killed when they feed by the Frontline. Refrontline every 30 days. No vet visit required and totally safe.

Frontline contains fipronil, which spreads via the body oils killing fleas within 24 hours and ticks within 48 hours. Ticks are generally killed before they bite, decreasing the risk of tick-borne disease transmission. Approved for use on kittens 8 weeks and older.

Frontline Plus also contains (S)-methoprene, an Insect Growth Regulator, which prevents an insect from maturing or reproducing. Approved for use on kittens 8 weeks and older.

You can use FRONTLINE flea and tick control once a month and it's completely waterproof. Provide your cat with the best flea and tick protection, right from the start.

Capstar - Treats flea infestations on pets. Starts killing adult fleas on the pet within 30 minutes. One dose lasts 24 hours. Use when pets are likely to be exposed to fleas. Also may be used prior to surgery, boarding, or grooming. Active ingredient is Nitenpyram, which interferes with the normal nerve transmission of insects, effectively killing them. Not a preventive. For pets over four (4) weeks of age. Package of 6.

  2. TRY THIS helped me for years!!

How I got rid of fleas and bugs from my home

You will need to purchase a simple bug/fly zapper; the type you use on a patio to kill flying insects.  You can buy a small one that will cover a large area of your house at most home improvement stores for as little as 15.00-20.00 dollars.  For faster results you can use one bug zapper for each room.  However the fleas do gravitate to the bug zapper’s light once night sets in and all the lights in your house are out. So one should work for a small home, just make sure to place it in the room where the most fleas are seen or felt.   Place the zapper on the floor in a corner behind a piece of furniture so kids and pets won’t play with or bother it. Set it on a plate or pie tin for easy cleaning up of the zapped bugs, you will be killing all bugs in your home as well, and then plug it in.  Remember, it is a piece of electrical equipment.  You have to use caution in where you put it. At night the fleas automatically want to go to a light, when they hop in to the bug zapper light they get fried! You can actually hear little, zits, zits when the fleas are getting zapped! All GONE! Keep the carpet vacuumed daily until your flea problem is under control, this will help tremendously in getting the fleas eggs out of your home and carpet faster!!  I am not responsible for misuse of the above item.  Use full caution in placing your bug zapper to the safest place.  It will work for months, even years; it will continue to kill bugs in your home as long as the light is on.  The bulb can be replaced once it burns out.  The light bulb can be purchased at most home improvement stores.

  3. Fleas can be annoying as they can and will bite people as well, and flea bites are itchy.

It sounds like you may have killed the adults but not the eggs and larva. Through my readings, fleas start out as eggs, then turn into larva, then pupa (they live in a little cocoon), and then they finally come out whenever they sense footsteps, movement, or heat nearby. That whole process usually takes 3 weeks - 1 month.

Here are some tips. - Get rid of the eggs. Wash all beddings thoroughly, vacuum the mattress.

Vacuum carpeting daily and dispose of used vacuum bags. Steam-clean carpeting.  This will kill any remaining eggs the vacuum might have missed.

Comb the cat  using a flea comb. Keep a jar or bowl of diluted bleach nearby, and as you collect fleas on the comb, shake them into the jar. The fleas will die quickly. They are NOT killed by flushing them down the toilet.

Groom your cats. Trim their fur. Remember, long-haired cat are harder to get the fleas out.

Do not forget to also clean and treat your automobile, pet carrier, garage, basement, or any other place your pet spends much time.

You have to get rid of the eggs, otherwise they will hatch and start problem anew.

If you have money, you may want to try herbal flea collars that use scents to get rid of fleas. Flea traps are also an alternative to drive away fleas.

Another advice is be sure not to use any products labeled for dogs on cats.

    Hopes these will assist you.
