so 20 years ago we found a kitten, he had fleas,,the next day we took him to a groomer who dipped him ? and we flea bombed the house, end of fleas..Now have a 14 week old and the vet found fleas on her last night, their treatment was a Frontline Plus (which is now irritating her skin and she has to go on medicine), and`vacuum the house really well, wash all bedding and stuff in hot water) OH and they say don't worry because as the new fleas (in the house) jump on her they will die..OK FLEAS are bad, i don't want fleas in my house...How can i get rid of the leftover eggs before they hatch and the larvae that MAY be crawling around in my carpeting (I have ALOT of carpeting)..

  1. I had this exact problem! This may sound weird but, it works!!!

Take a spray bottle... fill it with half water and half white vinegar.. put some dishwashing soap in there (Preferably lemon) and a few cloves of garlic! Spray it on EVERYTHING that isnt machine washable. Spray it on all the time as much as possible!

  2. Frontline Plus or Combo work very well. I've had cats for years. The anti pesticides that used to be used (i.e. proved dangerous to all of us animals, fleas, cats/dogs and humans which is why the treatments have changed.

As you know flea treatment is an ongoing thing if you have animals. Keep up the vacuuming as you would normally, use the spot on regularly (every 2 months) and the good thing about this treatment is that the fleas lay infertile eggs. This helps to break the cycle and keeps your home and cat flea free.

  3. Get a household flea spray, most pet shops will carry these.  Something like Acclaim will break the cycle and prevent existing eggs and larvae from becoming adult.  In many cases these products will continue to protect your house for months to come.  Vacuuming can also help, but it's by no means a way of getting rid of the problem.  If you don't have a local pet store that stocks this kind of thing, I think you can order this sort of thing online too.  Oh and good luck! :)
