  1. First, you need to call an exterminator.  They need to come and spray your house so that it kills the fleas and their eggs.  You have to do this or they'll keep hatching every 7 days and never ever ever ever go away.

The Frontline spray is supposed to be really good as long as you completely douse them in it - they need to be dripping wet.  It is so safe that my vet even sprays small birds with it.  The Frontline drops should work too - try putting half on your cat's neck and half on his back by his tail.

I've never heard of Armitage or Combat (other than the roach motels) but usually store bought flea remedies don't work.  Also, if you live down south it was just in the news yesterday that flea preventatives are starting to not work down there.

Also, as a home remedy try going to your local farm store (where farmers go to buy food and supplies) and ask them for cow/calf wormer.  I had an older vet say that it is just as good as Frontline, but cheaper.  I would only use about a tablespoon ore less depending on your cats size and age.

  2. Ok my dog had fleas before im going to give you advice.

    1. If your Grass hasn't been cut in a llong time it can get fleas.

    2. go to the store and buy some garden protection its for ants fleas bugs all kind. its like dirt but its has checiamls in it so you spread it around the grass everywhere. it keep fleas from coming in to the house or like if you let your cat go outside and let him come back in then he wont have no fleas because you killed the fleas. but if you wont them out your house then you need this bomb spray. its not a bomb they call it that. its the kind of spray where you put the spray on the bookshelf and it sprays it self but you have to stay out the house at least 24 hours because i had fleas from mydog. but make sure when your cat goes outside make sure he or she is clean before it comes back in the house.

any more questions??? email me at bumblebee.roberts@yahoo.com

    thank you

  3. You need your house "bombed" by a specialist firm as the eggs will be every where .under carpets in beds on rugs. Once it gets into the house its hellish to get rid of them . Next best thing is a flea house spray. Spray everything carpets suite beds skirting boards...wash all bedding. the cats and yours. Wash all exposed clothes. The cats need program or fronline drop-on repellent. Washing them is useless. Drop a flea collar in your hoover so any left after house treated will be killed in the vacuum. Without treating the house your cats will be re-infected or the fleas find an alternative food source..YOU..They carry tape worm eggs so get rid of them. Treat your cats all year round . A badly bitten cat can become aenemic from the amount of blood taken by these flesa so apart from being gross they can be dangerous.

I agree with other point made. Cut the grass. The fleas and their eggs hang about waiting to latch on to new menu. Then they are carried into your house.

    Borax is not safe:

Borax, sodium tetraborate decahydrate, is not acutely toxic. [6] Its LD50 (median lethal dose) score is tested at 2.66 g/kg in rats. [7] This does not mean that it is safe, merely that a significant dose of the chemical is needed to cause severe symptoms or death. Simple exposure can cause respiratory and skin irritation. Ingestion may cause gastrointestinal distress including nausea, persistent vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea

  4. take them to get a flea dip. I did it with my cats and worked REALLY well.

  5. your cat is infested, go to the vet immediately!

  6. IF YOUR HOUSE or cat HAS FLEAS….

I have a NATURAL remedy for getting rid of fleas in your house.

Go to the Store and buy some 20 Mule Team BORAX.

Then sprinkle it all over. Carpets, couch, bedding, pillows, pet beds, car, even wood floors. (NOT ON YOUR PET!)

    THEN VACCUME IT UP.

What Boax does is coats the eggs ... The eggs hatch deformed or unable to reproduce.

You will have to do this 2 or 3x about a week apart in order to get all the egg cycles.

FOR YOUR PET. Use the flea killer that is on the market or use a flea comb (this is also a head lice comb) especially for kittens or puppys who are too young to have insecticide put on them.

Kill the fleas that you find on the comb with soap or alcohol

  7. Frontline works great.  You can use either the spray or the drops, it doesn't matter, you just need to make sure that you use the right amount.  If you have a kitten and you know it's weight, you may want to use the spray, 1 spray for each pound of body weight.   Advantage works well also, but anything you buy over the counter is not going to work as well as something from the pharmacy.  It is more expensive, but worth it in the long run.
