Fled Small car accident?

Question

I just got into a car accident leaving a parking lot. It was a small one. My car shows no damage and im sure the other one neither. Ok i got nervous when this happened and i left because i thought the other car(taxi , i think) also left because it was going fast. But when i looked at my rear view mirror he had stopped. What should i do i dont want to get a hit and run. Should i contact the police to see if they know who the car was so i can contact the insurance company?

The cops would have been there by now--the police computers are quick to find out your name and address if the taxi got your plate. This is a lesson in life--accidents happen--just stop and handle it legally.  Call the police immediately if a car runs from the scene--and never move your car so the cops can document what really happened--you move and you are WRONG !!--- traffic tie ups are not YOUR concern. Stay put. !!! Drive carefully--when you leave a parking lot--you can't enter the road without really taking a good look. An accident is  because someone or both drivers are NOT driving carefully

alright if you were leaving a parking lot of a store, they might have cameras out there but they arnt that great so they cant zoom in on the lic plate. they can barely make out the make and model of the car. if that person left, and you did the same dont worry about it, no damage no need for anyone to get all worked up. everybody else is saying do the right thing, lala la, you didnt damage it dont worry about it. either way deny, deny, its always your word against someone else! i remember when i was like 16 i was pulling out of a parking space i hit the car next to me just as the owner was walkin to it. he seen there was no damage and laughed. he was even telling me which way to turn the wheel so i could get out!! nicest person ever.

Contact the police and get a report and contact your insurance company as well.
