Fleesensee Golf and Country Club Berlin hosts European Tour conference
To carry on with its burgeoning success worldwide, European Tour officials from all over the world gathered at a prestigious conference at the Fleesensee Golf and Country Club near Berlin, in order to brainstorm for the future success of the tour.
Representatives of the European Tour including sponsors, network officials, marketing teams and managers flew to Berlin to attend the moot.
The one-day conference was arranged to share ideas among the various European Tour venues across Europe.
The conference was attended by the representatives from Estonian Golf and Country Club, Kungsängen Golf Club (Sweden), Le Golf National (France), Linna Golf (Finland), London Golf Club (England), PGA Catalunya Resort (Spain), Terre Blanche Resort (France) and the host course.
The event included a stunning video documentary by Krishna De of Biz Growth Media on “How to maximise the effectiveness of Social Media”.
Managing Director of Linna Golf, Petri Keskitalo said:
"Being a European Tour Course has brought many benefits to our venue and we greatly value being part of the European Tour family of golf and the close links that we have formed with the member-venues of European Tour Properties".
"Our group  conferences are great fun but also an ideal opportunity to both share best practice and new ideas and learn about important industry trends.  This makes the development of our own venue in Finland that much stronger".
Established in 1972 alongside the already existing PGA Tour of America, the European Tour has grown in leaps and bounds over the years.
Moreover, it now hosts dozens of events in its calendar year in more than 45 countries in five continents.
It has two subsidiary tours, the European Senior Tour and the developmental Challenge Tour working alongside the mainstream European Tour.
European Tour has already started off a blistering year with successful events in South Africa and Middle East and has organised several events on the continental European turf in a short span.
The tour witnessed a downslide in sponsor’s interest in the event last year when two of the events, the Irish Open and Barclays Scottish Open were deprived an extension in the sponsorship contracts by the commercial giants.
The tour is now heading for the star-studded BMW PGA Championship and will host the major Open Championship soon after the US Open in San Francisco.
