The midfielder is hoping that the defender can help the club improve their defence and reiterated that it might take him time to adjust after being out for over two months.
Nemanja Vidic was one of the world’s best defenders when his fitness was not an issue, but these days constant injuries have taken a major toll in his abilities and he suffered a major blow after damaging his knee ligaments in September.
Following an absence of almost a year, the Serb was heartbroken to spend the last few weeks on the sidelines, but luckily he was able to recover and that too ahead of schedule.
Now after returning to training, the centre-back is in contention to start today’s game against Sunderland, although a substitute role looks more likely to happen.
Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson has already expressed his delight after seeing the Serb making a return and claimed that the backline will benefit immensely because of his talismanic abilities.
Now http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Darren-Fletcher-c10361 has continued that statement claiming that while the player will have suffered because of a long-term injury, he is determined to reach the standards he has set for himself in the past.
"http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nemanja-Vidic-c27550 has had a tough time. He has almost missed a year of football. We know the strength of character and determination he has and the quality he has. He has been back training in the last few weeks and the manager has spoken about maybe playing
him against Sunderland,” said the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Scotland-c756 International.
Ferguson also had some choice words for his players and reiterated that injuries suffered in late twenties always had a psychological effect.
"He will need a few weeks to get back into the routine of things but he is such a massive player for us he will be important if we want to achieve success this season."
Fergie will no doubt be contemplating the fact of Vidic starting today, but considering that he has missed a large chunk of the season so far, it would be foolish to give him a starting role at the moment, hence it is expected that the skipper will be named
on the bench and will later take to the pitch when it is deemed appropriate enough.
