The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Scotland-c756 International claimed that he was delighted to be back at Old Trafford following a lengthy stint on the sidelines.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Darren-Fletcher-c10361’s ulcerative colitis threatened to curtail his career last December just a season after the midfielder established himself as a first-choice start under Sir Alex Ferguson.
For years the play-maker struggled to find his position in the middle of the park and looked certain to be axed at one point after being criticized for his lacklustre displays.
However, he managed to turn around his fortunes and become Fergie’s main man in midfield after showcasing his talents regularly during the 2009/2010 campaign.
Since then Fletcher has been a hallmark of the United team but was diagnosed with a chronic bowel condition that kept him out of action until August.
Having faced an uncertain future, the player has comeback stronger in terms of determination and attitude, although he is still yet to get a string of games under his belt.
Fletch resumed practice with the first team in August and featured in Neil Simpson’s testimonial at Aberdeen, before being given the green light by Sir Alex to play in the UEFA Champions League and the Capital One Cup.
The 28-year-old is clearly delighted to be back and expressed his emotions today, claiming that he always had belief he would resume playing for Manchester United again.
"I didn't doubt that I would play again. I always felt I would be back. I think I needed to have that kind of attitude. There were other people who doubted it but, for me, to be here I always needed to believe,” said the Scottish skipper.
"I couldn't let myself think I might not make it. I always told myself I'd be back one day and fortunately that's the case. But it's not been plain sailing along the way by any stretch of the imagination. I would like to think Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 always knew I would be back, as well. Right now, I'm still at the stage of convincing him that I should be back in the team and playing two or three games a week."
