The 28-year-old last featured for the Red Devils in November but since then hasn’t been able to train properly either, resulting in a loss of form and fitness. But good news seemingly arrived a few days ago, with reports claiming that he could make a sensational
comeback in the new few weeks, possibly even for the start of the Premier League.
And that was followed up by call-up to the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Scotland-c756 squad, where he was allegedly asked to resume practice and continue his rehabilitation.
However, Mike Phelan has crushed all hopes of the talented midfielder making a comeback so quickly and claims that although he has returned to National team set-up, that is purely for training and he still had a long way to go before his playing days resumed.
"Darren joined in for four or five days last week. We decided that, if he felt well enough and felt good, we'd bring him into a training session. That's developed a little bit longer than what we actually thought. I don't know what the position is but if
Scotland want to take him, it's probably just to be part of the squad and to introduce him back into that.”
"But there's a long, long way yet for Darren Fletcher before we see him playing again,” he said.
The assistant trainer also commented on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Phil-Jones-c29903, who was forced to leave the team after complaining of illness and returned to Manchester shortly before the team’s game against Valerenga.
"We just sent him back. There's no point having a player out here if he can't train so we sent him back,” Phelan was quoted as saying.
Although United suffered in the absence of Fletcher last time out, Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Shinji-Kagawa-c33364 and Nick Powell from Borussia Dortmund and Crewe Alexandra respectively.
