The Scottish midfielder has reiterated his desire to continue playing despite his health concerns keeping him on the sidelines since December.
As Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Darren-Fletcher-c10361 became a regular starter at Old Trafford following his ascension in the ranks.
Always deemed as surplus to requirements, the Academy graduate finally cracked the starting line-up in the 2009/10 season.
While he continued his improvement at the helm, things turned sour for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Scotland-c756 skipper after he was diagnosed with a chronic bowel condition a few months back. Doctors were unable to prescribe any cure for him and eventually he was told to give up the
game indefinitely.
Having been out since last year, Fletcher decided to take up a coaching role with the reserves to maintain his fitness, although his dream to start playing again still looks far from materializing.
Ferguson recently revealed that if the player wasn’t able to recover from his injury woes, he would still be welcomed the club with open arms in another capacity.
Many have urged the attacker to give up the sport and prevent his body from further harm, but the 28-year-old for one is still maintaining his ambitions of playing for United again.
"It’s not really an option, I just want to keep playing. I know someday I will be back. I’m only 28 years old and to talk of retirement, I’m not really thinking about that. I want to give myself every opportunity to get back."
"I’ve not started training yet but I’m just listening to the doctors and just taking my time really. It’s so difficult to talk about because it was such an unexpected illness. I just have to take each day as it comes and at the moment I feel like I’m capable
of coming back, then I’ll try and come back,” he said.
Although Fletcher’s situation looks quite dire, the player’s own hopes and the array of medical staff available to him in Manchester should help him sort out his problems and get him on the field once more, before the end of the next campaign.
Otherwise, the English Premier League will witness the exit of a brilliant midfielder, whose best never come in fruition.
