Question:

Flexibility Trouble?

I have been doing gymnastics, cheerleading, and dance for most of my life. The only problem is I have never had very good flexibility. I can do somethings but not really others. Are there any stretches or things i can do to get good flexibility?

  1. ok, at first you won't be able to do a complete stretch but eventually you will so don't get discouraged.

Start out sitting on a floor, bend your right knee like your gonna sit cris-cross and put it in front of you, with your left leg straitened out behind you, leaning over your right leg with your knee by your forehead.

put your hands on the thigh of your right leg or on the floor either side of it and try to sit up in that position

(try to go as far as you did the previous day, and eventually work your way strait up.)

    Repeat with other side.

Now we're gonna switch it around and have your right leg bent in the same way but put it behind you now and your left leg strait out front.

Do the same thing you did with the other stretch, holding it and trying to sit up straighter and switching legs.

If you get to a point where you're not being challenged by these anymore try flexing your foot up instead of having it pointed like it is naturally in these stretches. It will help flex your leg muscles more.
