Question:

Flight Cancelled?

I looked at the forcast for the city I'm leaving from and the city I'm arriving to. The storm is going to hit the city i'm arriving in, and later hit the city i'm leaving from, so since the storm is going to be heading towards the city i'm leaving from, will the plane go thru the storm, or will the pilot try to go around, or get cancelled. Mine you that the storm would be hitting the city i'm leaving from about 10 hours after it hits the city I arrive in.

  1. umm well if its just a rain shower it the pilot might go through, if its moderate the flight will be delayed a little, if its a big storm then the fligth might be delayed and possibly cancelled. but i would go on time or early just in case to check if there is a delay.

  2. Impossible to tell.  the whole thing might dissipate or change course, and all might be well in the world again.  Weather is a c**p shoot when flying...you might be delayed...you might cancel...no crystal ball here.

Generally, unless they close either airport due to weather, it's unlikely that your flight will be cancelled...delayed is more probable.  The pilot will fly around or over the storm, depending on how air traffic control is routing traffic to avoid it.

A forcast is that....a forcast...it's not set in stone...the possibilities and scenerios are many.  good luck

  3. It really depends on the distance between the two places and how big the storm front is. There is a chance the pilot could go around it or fly over it.

  4. its cancelled cuz you are in there
