Question:

Flight Instructor's Rating?

On average, how long does it take to complete a flight instructor's rating - say, on a full time basis or a part time one of a few days a week?

Assuming normal rate of progress and no real problems...

Thanks!

PS - if it makes any difference, I'm in Australia so it's by the CASA syllabus... :-)

  1. some offer a month long course

  2. How fast can you learn to teach? haha..Seriously, here in the U.S you can do it fast...In a week if you informed and have been studying. but this largely depends on you as the student instructor...I did mine in a week and a half...But I had to get it done...so there ya go...if you have to do it to make it another step forward...then the sky is the limit...get it done..

  3. thats a difficult one to pinpoint a time frame.

There is some places that can do it in 2 weeks, but these are 6 days a week, 8hrs a day.. so you could argure about 100 hrs. But its more of a knowledge thing, and a teaching thing, as you have to know basically everything there is to know about flying at the private and commerical level and be able to teach it. You also have to be able to demonstrate the manevers, while teaching it, so its also a matter of  how much you know already..
