Hi, well in a few weeks I will be flying alone to Guadalajara, Mexico. It will be a non-stop trip. I am 13 years old, and I have been there 3 times. My parents will drop me off from O'hare airport and wait there until the airplane takes off. When I get to Guadalajara my uncles will be waiting there for me. && i will be traveling in either AEROMEXiCO OR MEXiCANA. My parents will leave Chicago 2 weeks after, and I will come home with them.

So now for the questions..

  1. 1. All of them!  Basically, act as you would in any public setting.  Be prepared when going through security; board only when your zone is called; be polite and courteous to those around you.  It's mostly common sense, but if you have any questions, ask someone (flight attendant, gate agent, etc).

    2. On Aeromexico, you're allowed one 50lb bag checked and one carryon.   On Mexicana, you're allowed two checked bags combined weight up to 101 lbs, and one carryon that does not exceed 22lbs.

    3. see above

    4. Check the TSA list (below).  This is a pretty good start as to what is prohibited.  For instance, you will not be able to bring a drink through security, but you can bring an empty bottle and fill it up from the fountains or purchase a drink in the terminal and bring it on the plane.  Practically all electronics are acceptable.  Crochet and knitting needles are ok, but tools and knives are not.

    5. No.  They serve everyone according to where they're seated (usually front to back).

    6. Yes.  Be aware, though, that you will need to stay within the ticketed cabin, ie, if you're in coach don't go to the bathroom in First class.

    7. You keep all your paperwork, including: passport, boarding pass (although they can reprint this), copy of your itinerary, etc.

    8. You fill out the declaration form.  If you need help with it, ask a flight attendant or the person sitting next to you.  Or, you can ask the customs agent once you get there, although that will slow you down.
