I've recently become very interested in airplanes and was thinking about getting Flight Simulator X. I've never played the game before and was wondering if it had some kind of training mode so i could learn easily without having to teach myself and get frustrated...

  1. its a pretty good simulator it gives you alot of practice and also lets you chose how windy it is and what kind of plane to fly I recommend using a trainer because thats what all beginner pilots use and they glide easily!

  2. Microsoft Flight Simulator X does have modes in which you can learn to fly different aircraft, depending on what you're interested in. Mostly, it gives simple instructions, and you have to figure out the more complicated ones, but once you learn to fly a plane well, it is easy to figure out others. All of the planes have similar controls, but there are small differences in each craft.

  3. There is a pretty good flight lesson section in the simulator, though not FAA approved.

The various missions will basically teach you the basics if you listen to the instructions.

Put the settings on realistic if you want the simulated effect.

Also, Saitek seems to make the best simulator joystick/yolks for the price (my opinion). I highly recommend a joystick or yolk for the simulation experience. Rudder pedals are very helpful with the helicopters, as well.

I got it because I've always wanted to be a bush pilot, and I have no regrets about the purchase.

Flight Simulator X is super cool.

X-plane 9 is a better simulator, but FSX is more user friendly for the novice.

X-plane 9 is in a 'constant update' mode. It's kinda like you never really get the finished product, but it's always getting better. You have to pay for way to many extras on Xplane.

FSX is more of a complete package (with the Acceleration add-on).

  4. if you have learned to take off.. its very VERY simple from there

    just keep trying and trying

    believe me
