  1. Hey, I was a flight attendant with Skyservice Airlines in 2005/2006 (its canadian). I absolutely loved my job. A second language was not needed as I only speak english. The pay was really great and the people were fabulous! The airline I flew for only hired once a year. I would suggest emailing the human resources department of the airline you wish to work for to find out when hiring will take place next. Passengers were all relatively great, with the exception of those few passengers who felt they should be served on hand and foot above the rest. (very minor though) The crew you work with you will learn to love because you get the great experience to travel to many different places with people you don't really know. I wouldn't trade the experience for the world because I have learned so much! The training was intense but well worth it and I have made friends that will last me a lifetime! Hope this helps :)

  2. I have done it  since September of 1989. Well , it is pretty decent career. We have lots of time off, can fly for free and get to see some pretty exciting places. I have been to Paris, San Francisco, Madrid, London, Seattle, Dublin , Miami and Los Angeles to name a few places. I speak English, but can speak Spanish to get by on Spanish Destination  flights. Negatives; people who do not listen, demanding people and generally people who are just plan stupid. ( Don't get me wrong the majority of passengers are very good people) Airlines hire all the time, you just have to research to see which ones currently are. It has been a great ride and I look forward to doing it for some time to come. If you are really interested in being a flight attendant, just go to each  airline's website( ones that interest you) and go to the career section for up-to-date information about openings and applying.  Go for it !!!!!!! You will enjoy it, if it has been a dream of yours. Happy Flying my friend !!!!

  3. Sorry, no I'm not a F/A but i know a lot about them.

Things that can suck are always having people judge you. So get use to it. If your having a bad hair day, it's Garateed a passenger will make a remark about that. You probably wont get a lot of respect from the passengers, they don't know your there for safety reasons. Usually airlines want you to speak more than two languages, especially for international routes. Some favorite parts of their job include the free travel, and it is a fairly descent and easy job and sometimes fun. Airlines will always hire, right now i think Delta American eagle and airtran are in the process of hiring new F/A's.

    Good luck and Stay safe.
