Question:

Flight attendant question...?

If you are based out of your hometown... how exactly does it work compared to if you were based at another location. I am waiting for recruitment in my hometown to apply but I am just trying to get an idea of how long you are gone and what the normal work schedule is like. Are weekends something that people in this field do not like to work? I would actually be interested in working weekends plus whatever other days I am required to work. Thanks for the info!

  1. It is certainly easier if you live in your base city or can easily travel to it.

But if you don't, I know some airlines will provide free transportation (by air) to your base city, so long as you can get there on time.

Being a flight attendant is an incredibly difficult field to make money in, gain seniority, and actually become successful. I know many people do it because of the joy of flight, but for some it just isn't practical. The airlines tell you when, where, exactly how, for how long, etc. you will work - you really don't have much say in the matter. So keep your schedule open!
