  1. You must be at least 18 and some airlines require you to be 20 or 21. A college degree is not necessary but is a plus.

Have a couple of years of customer service and project a calm, poised, competent attitude.

All the airlines do their own training which last several weeks, usually unpaid with a bonus payment after graduation.

I recommend that you go on the website of any airline you want to work for and click on "careers". There you will find information  which pertains to working for that specific airline.

They are not specifically looking for super models, but for well-groomed, professional looking people who will represent the airline and provide excellent customer service.

Another good source for you is flightattendants.org, but you need to subscribe for $14.95 a year to read the posts.

flightattendantcareer.com is a great source of information.

Good luck - it is a fun job, but doesn't pay much. The travel benefits and experience is what makes it great.

  2. Truthfully, flight attendants don't get to see a lot of places.  There is little time to do their own traveling when they are in the middle of work.  Best scenario - they do 3 days "turn arounds" (fly somewhere and come back) and get put up in a hotel for two nights.  Sure, they get to fly over cities - countries, but they get little leisure time to enjoy.
