Flight delay-my mate n his family were delayed at manchester for 23 hours because of "tech difficulties"

with the plane. now hes back from his hols and trying to claim off his insurance but theyve asked for definate proof that the plane set off at that time. the holiday comp are not being forward at all with this info-my question is has anyone maybe been in the same situation? and what kindo of compensation should my mate be looking at? thanx so much

I went to Florida in March and we were delayed at Manchester for 30 hours due to the dreaded tech difficulties. We were  travelling with My travel airline and on our return we just went to our local My travel/Thomas Cook travel agents and they contacted the airline for us and we got the required document posted to us within a few days. We also claimed on our travel insurance and we were given £60 each (£120 in total ) with no excess to pay.£120 is a small reward for losing a day and a half of our holiday but it was better than nothing  and in our case it was hassle free , hope your friend  succeeds with his claim.
