I am looking for a flight zone (specific numbers) for pigs. For example, is 1-2 ft for a handler enough? Please provide your resources. Thanks!

  1. The flight zone is the animal’s personal space. The size of the flight zone is determined by the wildness or tameness of the animal. Completely tame animals have no flight zone, and people may touch them. When you enter this space, the pig will move away. Stand at the outside edge of the flight zone. To get the specific numbers that you want you will have to determine them for your animals. With the pig standing still when he is facing you, start moving slowly toward him. The point at which he turns away from you and starts moving will be his specific flight zone.

  2. Well, with Genetic manipulations of the pigs DNA, "Flight zone for Pigs" may take on a literal meaning of "flight" >:)

On a more serious note, if Pig farming means something in your life, or if you farm, please take a few minutes to watch the video links below.

    Thank you.

  3. a pig goes forward when a person is behind the shoulder or when a person quickly walks past the point of balance in the opposite direction of desired movement.
