Flights to Minnesota - please read and help!?

Question

My husband and I were looking at flights to Minnesota (St Paul area) and can't believe how costly they are...it's Minnesota for heaven's sake lol :D i see all these commericals for $99 flights etc, but none for this. A co-worker told me that the flight prices go down after labor day. Does anyone know of this? We are planning vacation there next year - we were gonna go in late September but these prices are crazy!
