i was going to do this today and when i went to the ryanair website they had offers on and i ended up booking a flight from dublin to bologna and back from pisa for 8c over and back for 4 of us. no taxes, charges or credit card fee. woohoo.

ok that link didnt work. anyway its dublin to ciampino 6-14 november. €20 per adult plus €6 credit card fee and €12 for a suitcase.

Where are you flying from?

I would check this site. http://www.kayak.com After you have found the airline and times that meet your budget, go to that airline site and check the flight number, many times it's cheaper. Also, travel agent often have better rates because they do much business with that airline.  We got a great rate with our travel agent. We saved a couple hundred dollars off each ticket. We traveled in September.

Summer times the rates are always higher because of demand.

Try www.kayak.com or www.sidestep.com.  I also found that if it is a Delta flight, you can sometimes find the flight cheaper on delta.com than anywhere else.
